Hi – I am currently up to my next in restoration work. I am doing the following:
R12 – Full Military Restoration
R12 – Full Civilian Restoration
3 x R12 Engines – Mechanical and Cosmetic restorations on all 3.
1938 R51 Engine, Trans and Final drive – Full mechanical and cosmetic restoration
1961 R69S Engine, Trans and Final drive – Full mechanical and cosmetic restoration
Various other small projects tucked in here and there as well.
I will put up some pictures soon.
I am poised to make a big push on the 1951 R67 that I have been working on for a few months. Fresh packages of parts from Bing Agency, Benchmark Works, and Uli’s –
Just need to finish the wiring, install the drive shaft, exhaust, seat, headlight, tank, set up the rear suspension, handlebars and controls, cables – shouldn’t take too long – :^)
Here’s where I am now –
I’m now the proud owner of a 1963 R69S. It’s fairly low mileage, and in good shape overall. It’s been in the elements for a decade or two – but that don’t bother me none! I was in rural New York and is now on the left coast in my care. This year I will do a complete restoration on this example – and I’m leaning toward Dover White for a color scheme. More updates as I get work done –
time to clean.
Got my hands on it now. Taking off the extras.
In the raw
Just picked up these two beauties – 1955 R69 & 1961 R69S. The R69 has all the cool 1st year stuff on it – Nice. Just need the small tail light. The 35/11 gears are toast, but the case is good, so I’ll find a gear set for it.
Hi y’all –
Just a note to tell you about some upcoming events –
The Borrego Springs So Cal AMCA rally will be the first weekend in March this year – I’ll be riding my trusty 1950 R51/2 – and looking forward to a fun 3 days of riding.
The Big 3 Swap meet in Sad Diego can sometimes turn up old motorcycle stuff – so I’ll haunt that place on Feb 21, 22 & 23.
Just an update – Right now I have the following Customer’s bikes in process:
1951 R67 – Full Restoration
1951 R67 – Full Restoration (for Sidecar use)
1953 R51/3 – Restoration of Drive Train, Frame and Suspension – DONE
When these are done, I will start:
Steib S500 Sidecar for R67 above
